Buttle UK

Registered Charity No.313007

Buttle UK helps children and young people aged 11 to 18 who are in the following school years: England and Wales school years Y7 to Y11 (We may help up to Y13 when other avenues such as specialist 6th Form charities are exhausted) Scotland S1-S6 for secondary school. And who are either:

  • Adopted
  • From single parent families
  • Cared for by grandparents, relatives or friends
  • Have two parent/step parents, where one is severely incapacitated through illness or disability.

Boarding School Grants

This is where the child/young person cannot stay at home and needs accommodation and enhanced pastoral care to access tuition. With boarding fees it is usually the young person's parent or carer who is experiencing problems.

Grants

As a first step, families are encouraged to seek bursary assistance at their chosen school. Buttle UK makes grants in the region of £1000 per term for successful applicants. We work closely with other educational trusts within the Educational Trusts Forum.

Buttle UK also help young people aged 16 to 20 who are estranged from their families.

Estranged Young People Programme

One-off grants up to £2000 are available to fund a personalised package of support which can include funding for education, training or apprenticeship. The package is created by the young person and their support worker. Unlike our School Fee Programme, it is the Support Worker or Personal Advisor who applies and administers the grant.

"I feel really relieved with your great and generous support to my daughter. It is remarkable help and I am extremely thankful to the late Frank Buttle...many lessons to learn from great people!"
